OluKai 7th Annual Ho’olaule’a SUP Race Results 2015

In case you missed the OluKai 7th Annual Ho’olaule’a SUP Race Results 2015, you can click here.

It’s been quite a whirlwind since the 7th Annual OluKai Ho’olaule’a Race this past May but it’s still fresh in my mind as one of the most fun race venues of the year.

Along with the local crew taking their crowns once again, Connor Baxter and Andrea Moller; yours truly placed a cool first in the open women’s age group.

Suzie Cooney OluKai Race 2015

Suzie Cooney exiting 2015 Olukai Race MauiI was very stoked with my time, but the funniest moment was hopping off my board onto the
beach only to box and wrestle a giant 8 foot buoy on the beach as I made my way to the finish.

Suzie Cooney OluKai SUP Race 2015 In this photo I’m just finishing a punching bag session with that yellow beast of marker on the beach laughing to myself the whole way.

There were people blocking my path and I remember yelling out. “everybody out of my way” at the top of my lungs. If you know me, that’ s usually not my style, but I thought game on and you must move right now. It apparently paid off.

The conditions were epic which made for an incredible 8 miles surfing session with nice big swells and record breaking finish times. This is one of my favorite downwind SUP races of all time.

I hope next year’s will be just as fun and hope to see you there.

Aloha and see you on the water,

Suzie Cooney
